Having qualified in Medicine from London’s Royal Free Hospital and having initially followed a career path towards Trauma Medicine including active military service, a pathway into Clinical Forensic Medicine was successfully homed.
To date he has handled over 16,000 clinical forensic cases and numerous cases involving clinical issues surrounding serving inmates. He is recognised as an expert in this field and in that of Prison and Custodial Medicine and is an Accredited Appraiser of both General Medical Practitioners and Forensic Physicians.
Legally qualified from the University of Northumbria, upon being called to the Bar, he began practising in the specialist areas of Coroners Law and Advanced Crime. He also has an interest in Police Discipline and professional conduct issues.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and an Accredited Mediator, the latter skills have been used successfully on numerous occasions involving internal disputes within a disciplined service.
In 2004 he received a special award from the Solicitor General following his work with the Cleveland Crown Prosecution Service.
He also holds part time appointment sitting as a Senior Medical Member on Medical Appeal Tribunals and is appointed as a Regional Medical Appraiser and Facilitator by the Ministry of Justice.
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and External Examiner at the University of Teesside and is responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of forensic training.
He also sits on the Investigating Committee of the Health Professions Council and is approved by the Secretary of State under S12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
He also holds Membership of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians.
Mr Paul Wilson
Having initially graduated in Classical Studies with a developed fluency in several ancient languages and considerable archaeological experience, he re-qualified as a Solicitor in 1991 specialising in Banking and Commercial Projects before establishing his own Legal Practice in 1994.
That Practice rapidly gained professional recognition within its niche areas and the attainment of recognised quality standard awards at the highest level.
He has significant experience of all aspects of Company, Commercial, Property and Contractual Disputes including cross border disputes and multi million pounds claims.
He is an extremely experienced and accomplished Court Advocate being in addition a long standing Court and Police Station Duty Solicitor.
Since 1999 he has held Judicial Office as a Fee Paid Tribunal Judge.
In addition to having extensive experience of Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation within his professional Practice he also holds the status of Accredited Civil and Commercial Mediator and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
He is Honorary Legal Advisor and Training Officer to an established Local Charity and a Japanese registered and Accredited Martial Arts referee and Judge.
His particular areas of interest include Domestic and International Contract and Commercial matters, Professional disputes, Landlord and Tenant Law and Intellectual Property claims.
